You should get a Notice of Intended Prosecution within 14 days - this asks you to name the person driving at the time of the offence.

It will probably be dealt with by way of fixed penalty - 60 fine and 3 points.

Depending where you live, you may be given the opportunity of attending a course - more money, no points.

does this mean that if i get caught again meaning id have 6 points i would lose my licence and have to retake my test? been driving less than 2 years, it took me so long to pass ill b scared of driving now incase i lose my licence
Yes. 6 points within two years and you revert to learner status.

Remember that it is the dates of the offence that count.

Wait and see what happens - there may not have been any film in the camera.

I agree with Ethel,

But its just another way of the Government making money out of motorist and putting nothing back to improve the road conditions in the UK.

Plus.
Road Tax.
Fuel Tax.
Parking Fines.
Car Park Cost.
Speeding Fines.

Must be other charges, but to tired to think.

it flashed like a camera so it recognized, but you think maybe there will b no film?? im going to have to drive like a slug for 6 months! really cant aford to lose licence
Plus
VAT on motor insurance;
The levy to MIB from your motor insurance;
I don't have a crystal ball but I do know very often the camera flashes and nothing comes of it.

I suggest you buy a sat nav device that makes an audible noise whenever you exceed the speed limit. It's not infallible but it could help.
I have been flashed twice by speeding cameras in the past, no notice of prosecution.

Just wait and see.
You will not have to drive like a slug. If you stick to the speed limit then you will have no problems.

You shouldn't have been doing 40 mph in a 30 zone should you, speed limits are there for a reson.
