Uploading on youtube help

I am uploading a video i have made to youtube,it is 10mins long and about 2 gig.I set it uploading yesterday morning and it is still uploading now!
I set one going yesterday that was about a minute long and took 3 hours to upload.
Why is this?

with your videos being that large it sounds like they are in ram AVI format. convert them to a compressed format before uploading them.

Youtube recommends mpeg4 at 640x480 with mp3 audio.
