Last week I won a LCD/Free view TV in a competition. I have it connected by Ariel to video player to TV, and also a scart from tv to video but cannot tape free view. What am I doing wrong? Or is this not possible to tune video to free view TV.

TIA.

You can only record 1 f/view chnnl at a time,in other words, make sure the selected f/view chnnl is showing on your rec equipment,& then press record.(you will have to programme your recorder to the f/view channl).

The problem is I cannot find the free view channel on the VCR. I have went to the AV channel on the VCR but it will not let me tune the channel in.
So you may well not be able to output the freeview to the video recorder, you were right to select the videos av channel.

Did you record with the tv on? as the tuner will probably only work with it on.

As most freview boxes have a scart output on them and no RF signal output (as it would be crap picture) I suspect that the tv only has AV inputs for video and dvd etc.

Try this:-
Connect one scart lead into the input of the video and a scart socket on the tv.put a tape in the video and press record when its on the AV channel.

Reconnect the video so you can play it on the tv and see if it has recorded the freeview.

Of course if you have more than one scart socket on the tv you would need to try this until you get something.

If you end up with nothing then you know that the tv cannot output the freeview to the video.

Good luck !

Normally when you record, you are using the VCR's built-in tuner. If you want to record freeview, you must record from the output of the TV (and the TV must be on and tuned to the channel you wish to record). You then need to set the VCR to record from its AV-in socket, NOT from its tuner.
