How can I remove them totally free of charge. My computer at work has got hundreds of really bad trojans and backdoors and worms etc and keep getting a notice saying my privacy is at risk cus people could get hold of bank card details and there is a virus tracking the sites I visit. Well I really need to get rid of them for free as too scared to tell my boss. Last time my computer got viruses - the firm had to pay 60 to get rid of them. HELP!!!

There are several free virus-checking programs available (eg AVG Free) but I doubt very much if you would be allowed to download and install them on your work's computer. If you can, then your company has very lax security systems in place.

Hi gen2,

Work has let me download avg and others but the problem is they are not the full versions they are only the free versions and you can only scan free but to remove it says to register and pay. The company is very lax, I don't think my computer or the others has any antivirus software installed on it, so thats why I've got all these viruses but I don't want to have to tell my boss that she will have to pay to remove viruses on my computer cus she will think its my fault but I'm not sure that it is because they should have antivirus software installed - they have firewall but thats it - wheres ethel
Several good free programs to try:

The third one in the list here (A Squared Free 3.5)

and
http://www.filehippo.com/download_ad-aware/

and
http://www.filehippo.com/download_spybot_searc h_destroy/

and
http://www.filehippo.com/download_avg_antispyw are/

All free - and you can download them all. Run them one at a time.

I would suggest you put a couple of hours aside and run them when you have booted the pc in safe mode (after downloading them).
Turn off system restore first.

When you have finished, reboot as usual and turn system restore back on.

These are the first steps and hopefully will cure the problem.

If not, take a note of exactly what happens to tell you that you have a problem.
If your firm will allow you, you could try trojan hunter, you can download a month`s free trial.
It`s just got rid of three trojan`s for me, that AVG couldn`t handle. My grandaughter had used my computer and downloaded them from limewire.
If your pc has as many viruses etc as you say, I'm guessing you aren't going onto sky news, facebook, bbc each day (adult porn, gaming, free ringtone sites are notorious for spyware, adware, viruses).

Stick to official respected sites during your working day and save the personal internet visits for your own time. You can then carry on your day to day job without fear of getting into trouble with your boss.
