Hi, I'm trying to remember the name of a packet of nougat I only used to see at Christmas.

It was small rectangular blocks individually wrapped in silver paper and the nougat itself was wrapped in rice paper?

Is it still available as I haven't seen it for at least a couple of years?

Any help will be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

keillers I think in a flat blue box they use to do butterscotch too

I was wrong, it was Callard and Bowser, no longer made, i googled for it and got this link!!!!!

..check out the pick n mix counter at woolies, we had some nougat with rice paper on a while back, though the pick n mix choice varies from store to store...worth a try...

Thorntons do some very nice French Nougat, which is similar to the Callard and Bowser one, but it tastes a bit more of honey.

I wish they still made it. Aside from being yummy stuff, the boxes were very useful - my sister and I used to fight over them at Christmas!

and the butterscotch was really good too

Thanks very much everyone. Another Christmas tradition gone.......along with the figs at the bottom of the date box and the 5 minute Woolies adverts!!

Thanks again.

I received some nougat last Christmas which apart from the rice paper was just as nice as the one we remeber from years ago. It came from Lakeland and they have it again this year. It'snot the pistachio one it's the almond one that's so nice.

Hi there, I share your passion... so much so that I'm starting a campaign to get Succhard's (who now own the brand) to bring it back into production.

You can read about the campaign at:

then follow the link to sign the petition. I know it's not exactly up there with the "Free Nelson Mandela" stylee campaign, but little acorns... will, hopefully give us back our tasty nougat :)
