Hehehe, this is an email everyone at work received today, I've starred out Company name and contact name.....

We are always keen to listen to employee views and suggestions and in response to recent feedback via our UK Employee Forum we are delighted to introduce the pilot of a barber onsite at ***. This service will be available to any one within the *** network who can visit ***, Aberdeen.

The barber will be situated at Zone 1 from Tuesday 30th September. As she will have no facilities for washing hair she will be limited to men and ladies dry cuts and fringe cuts.

Our aim is to make the cost for the employee as competitive as possible and prices will range from 5 - 10.

Please note that we do have male and female showering facilities around the *** building for anyone who requires this following their haircut, you will be required to bring along your own towel.

The barber will visit every 4-6 weeks, dependent on interest.

During the trial appointments can be booked through *** on extention ***.

How absolutely ridiculous is that??

I am a bit gobsmacked here... your employer is offering free hair cuts ??? wtf is that all about ????

For 10 years now I have been trying to persuade my employer to allow us to use the (ready to use, preinstalled, WORKING) showers in the office block) so that employees who either cycle to work or go for a run at lunchtime can stay fresh... but same employer insists on using the shower as a storage area for redundant paperwork, files etc....
We've had an onsite hairdresser for years, all I have to do is pop upstairs for 10 minutes and get a number 2, 10 and a good chat.

LOL!!! Exactly....WTF is that all about!

Call me a cynic if you like but I think it's got more to do with ticking the right boxes so they win awards than it does to do with making us lot happy.

Show your employers this thread, Juggs, say "how come they get hair cuts and we don't even get a shower??" hehe.

I'd much rather it was a nail bar they set up ;o)

I don't believe you, Whiffey!!
Ahhh but Whiffey..... a No 2 in hairdressing terms is not quite the same as in the personal hygiene field...is it ? Fud you like or what eh ?
We've got a hairdresser, but no showers, so we cyclists have to change in the computer room and stink all day. Most of us have Sanex underarm sprays on our desks.
