the reports of the death of a friend's machine i mentioned b4 have been greatly exaggerated--i have 'a' system up and running now--but 1 problem left--system will NOT recognise ps/2 mouse port--if i disable port in bios settings and attach serial mouse system works--i have tried a reinstall of ps/2 mouse port and driver for mouse but won't work--tried 3 different mice--no joy--system wont even boot up if i enable port in bios--but ok if disabled--??????????--it is an onboard port--u reckon it is duff?

I too have had this problem, I ended up buying a new cheap "old" (ok it was 20) motherboard that supported the "old" Pll 300 chip and everything went well. I now have another "server" added to the 2 others I use on my home network. Sorry I cannot be of any other help. It looks like there is some kind of break in your motherboard's connection to the PS2 port
