My partner studied Art at University, but she really wants to become a vet. Is there any way to train to become a vet or vetinary nurse whilst working another job? The thing is we cant afford for just one of us to be working, but she is willing to study (I suppose like an Open University course) to fulfill her dream? Can anyone help, or give me any ideas about how she could go about it?

My understanding is that the entry requirements are higher than for human medicine, so I hope your partner is a clever clogs. There's an insider's view at: http://www.parkvets.com/careersandworkexperience-v

You could watch early evening TV every weekday for a year, there seem to be enough banal vet and animal rescue programs on.. I reckon you'd pick it up soon enough!
