That all depends on what fish you were thinking of putting in. Some will eat others, yes.

i have 7 goldfish and my friend is givin me 4 tropical fish, can they share the same tank?

No they cant.

Goldfish are coldwater fish and tropical need warm, heated water.

And yes, the goldies will eat them anyway- basically if anything will fit in a goldies mouth, they'll eat it.
