My wife is pregnant with out first child and i want to start putting some money away for it.
Ive been saving loose change for a little while and it's adding up and wanted to start an account for the baby but am unsure when i'd be allowed to do this.

Any suggestions?

Why not open a savings account in your name and put the money in there. When baby is born and has a name lol you can then open an account for the baby and transfer the money you have saved to the new account. You will also get a cheque from the government to go into a savings account/trust fund when the baby is born and another one when he/she is 7 years old. This is for when they turn 18 and possibly go to university.
You can also open Trust Funds for children. Ask friends and relatives to pay amounts into this instead of buying presents.
Halifax do great regular saver account for the baby once he or she is born - 10% interest for a year and then you need to transfer the money out, You cant open anything specifically for him or her until they are born though, but keeping saving yourself just now.
its excellent you are making arrangements for these things early and planning ahead to save for your childs future.

I want to help you, I have saved thousands of people money off their gas and electricity bills. This is an excellent investment you can undertake without any cost, and you will realise this almost like a pay rise.

Any ongoing money I manage to save you, you can add to the savings trust without noticing a decrease in your disposable income. in some instances I have saved the average household upto 400 a year. its worth it.

I look forward to hearing from you
