Is there a number that uniquely identifies a product in the world, just like an ISBN number identifies a book? I've heard of SKUs, but they seem to be vendor specific.

Hi

The Only number I can think of is the model number of the product.  That is your only hope I think.  SKU's are,as you say, vendor specific.

If you know the model number of the product, type this into a search engine and see what you get.  Don't forget to put the brand in too of course.
