I have heard from someone that James Wellbeloved is to be taken over by Pedigree - does anyone know if this is true?

They are already, aren't they? The company was sold to Mars Inc, who hold the pedigree name.

Oh - do you know when this happened? I've looked on the JW site and there is no indication there.

Mars Inc have Pedigree and Royal Canin, cant see JW mentioned.

It was in 2002, the Mars Inc brand goes under the Masterfoods name in the UK, also Crown Pet Foods features somewhere

Jams Wellbeloved and Royal Canin are the same company. They have been for quite a while, and the company was taken over by Mars who own the Pedigree brand.
