why do i get a message access is denied when i use the iif statement in a query?

how do i do that? i want to assign a specific value for a certain input

Open Office is a suite of several programs.
Which one are you using?
i be guessing its MS access

the format is:

iif([myfield]='Hello','Display Hello','Goodbye')

other then that, ???

are you running the query against an attached table, from say an SQl database, which you need to loginto first?

my syntax is correct as how u have written but i get the message 'acces is denied' when running the query.

This works in MS Access but i cant get it to work on open office base
