Before the Olympics started, there was a post on here suggesting that the Olympics were irrelevant, and that sporting issues were overshadowed by drugs issues.

How wrong can you be !!

Even before the Athletics have begun, this is a stunning Olympic Games. 18 world records in the swimming pool alone, and excitement in every event (except the football and the tennis).

As a sporting spectacle, the Olympics are way, way better than the World Cup.

nb. I am working hard, not watching the Olympics.

To be honest I find the Olympics (and athletics in general) quite dull. There are very few events that I would actually wacth with any degree of interest.

I find world cups (football and rugby) much more interesting to watch.

trigger ... Yes. I mean, No.

octavius ... sounds like you're not a neutral, though.

The Olympics show us WORLD TITANS using their strengths in peace and for the glory of their countries.

Admiration is due to competitors for training hard and those in training for next Olympics.

Sour grapes to those with derogatory opinions!

World Cup ditto

Im not a neutral? What does that mean?

I wasnt being derogatory about the Olympics, I admire their talent, focus and dedication, its just not my thing and I wouldnt miss it if I missed it.

When it comes to the World Cup I generally depending on the host nations time zone try to ensure I catch almost every live game.
