Word is a component of MS Office.....so I don't understand the question

I often take date from Excel to Word in table format, then under Word 'Table', convert table to text, seperator I just put a space in (I use it for transferring fornames and surnames in word...)

Do you mean you take data from an Excel spreadsheet and paste it into Word? If so, you are talking about having taken some stuff from one source which is now in Word: it doesnt matter what the origin is, either entered from a keyboard or copied from another application, its still a Word document.

Reading the question literally, it talks about a document (a .doc i.e a Word document) and changing it to word (also known as Word, hence a .doc). This is of course what others said at the start!
