Could having to register to use Chatterbank (in additional to being registered on the general site) be a possible answer to getting rid of trolls?

If people had to register with only one username per IP address allowed and a report function which means users can have any troublemakers banned until the Ed can check and consider their posts and see if they should be let in or not hence getting rid of people banning for no decent reason?

I'm sure genuine users wouldn't mind being locked out for a day or so if it meant CB could get back to a decent chat place?

I'm sure that some will still slip through the net but it may make dealing with things easier.

Could that work?

You know, I don't know why they don't ask people like Chuck Fickens for advice. From what Chuck's said on here, they clearly have done stuff like internet security for a living and until they hire someone permenantly to do this (I think AB is looking for a techie bod) then why don't they make use out of members like Chuck, Buenchico or others who can and do understand the wonders of techy type things.
It does spill over onto other topics tho -thats the problem and Gravy popsted earlier inferring -as he was off tomorrow he was gonna have a go at all the topics (that wasnt verbatum -so dont get a h@rd on gravy -they cant keep it confined to CB they are out to destroy AB.

Plus they invade your personal space as well-out of everyone whi has mu number knobby -the leat likely person -has abused it -invading my space and specially when my son was home and he knows thats special for me and in particular the reason he was home -sad.
I know I shouldnt be trusting but I can honestly say Knobby has been a fantastic pal -no probs until he created them when i was asleeep -suspect winding up from the Reef -then he became monstous -I am in aw
e of what he posted in one afternoon without back up has to be said -advocating porn on an family site advocating wife beating and other accusations -I could have sworn he was cloned had i not recieved the messages -sad and I know he will be as well sober-but tough.
buildersmate, I don't see this site making much money. I could be wrong, but I don't see those dumb questionnaires as a goldmine, and apart from that it's mostly misdirected Google ads. However many users there are, they don't pay a penny. I doubt there'd be enough petty cash around to pay for a high-maintenance lady like China. (Glad the job's going well, CD.)
Shucks Jno, you say the nicest things! Cheers big ears!
I posted a question in this section last night asking that the Ed gets off his/her backside and starts doing something because, apart from being annoying, I have no doubt that some new members are put off by this juvenille humour. I got up this morning and the thread had vanished, is removing the troublemakers a pointless exercise? The Ed seems to be not bothered by our 'problem'.
That's odd krusty as I posted a thread to the Ed in this category more or less saying that too- and it's still there, even though I expected it to go as well.
