Hi,2 weeks until I get my beautiful black lab puppy,Lottie.I was just wondering which foods you gave to your dogs when they were pups.I'm blinded by the choice! My friend has given her labs James Wellbeloved. Does anyone have any recommendations? Thanks so much.

Hey barb,

At first I would say feed your puppy on the food the breeders bred him/her on, and then gradually introduce a new food.

I feed both my dogs on James Wellbeloved, and with my puppy Cleo, we buy 3 puppy sized bags (which are normally on 3 for 2 at pets at home), and put them in the box we have and mix them together. So each meal she gets different bits! Cleo doesnt seem to complain!!
As Wiggal says you need to keep the puppy on the food she has been having with the breeder. If you want to feed a complete diet, James Wellbeloved is a good food, so there would be no reason to change, just from a puppy diet, to adult diet when the time is right.

Thanks both Jules and Wiggal. My friend told me about the 3 for 2 and she also mixes flavours to give variety, I was going to keep her on the same food as the breeder for a while and then change to the James Wellbeloved slowly. Many thanks for your replies.
