I don't know if this is the best section to plce this question, but here goes.

I have a plate purchased at a jumble sale many years ago.
It has nothing written on the back, the front has large handpainted lowers, and the following words written
on it .-
'I FURLANS SLUNGIN LIS ORIS TOR DAL VECIO FOGOLAR'. If any one is able to truly translate it, I would be most grateful.

Many thanks in advance,

The last bit may be about an old open hearth/fireplace.

Furlans seems to be conected to people from the Italian Friuli region.

Oris could be golds.
Are you sure vecio isn't veccio as it could mean old or an old person.
Something about an ornament (or perhaps piece of art or trophy/award) for the old fireplace made by the Furlan people.
Translated roughly it means:

'Don't let the door hit you, where the good Lord split you'

only joking x
it's italian..it reads...only for sale as part of a multipack...lol! sorry,but couldn't resist it! :)

It's definitely in Friulian/Umbrian Romansch - one word puzzles me a bit. Vecio could be old, but the usual word would be vieli. Assuming it is a variant of old, the phrase reads

Friulians draw out the hours around the old fireside

Vecio is definitely old - variant of standard Italian vecchio - comes up quite often with quotation marks around it in otherwise standard Italian texts - might be the equivalent to them of our writing 'auld' or 'owld' to emphasise a Scots or Irish pronunciation.

One last point, 'stretch out the hours' might be better than 'draw out'.
