But paying �10,000 off your mortgage makes you about �75/month better off.

That's has small feel good factor.

Whereas ...

... buying �10,000 worth of clothes, or �5,000 on clothes and a fortnight in the Caribbean, has a huge feel good factor.

Or am I being short sighted?

think i'd use this to make my dreams come true. �10,000 isn't much when it comes to houses etc, so I'd spend it on making me and my partner happy.

Hey jayne - I wouldn't reduce the payments though! - that way paying off the mortgage even earlier - hoping to clear it in the next couple of years and have the money then to splurge, or maybe give up work and do something part time while the kids are stil young enough to want me around!

i'd be a good girl and pay off some of the debts i accrued while at uni. this amount of money would make me around �200 a month better off! that would make me happy...is someone offering free money, then?
