How much a new waste pipe

I have a standard two up two down. The main outside waste pipe from the bathroom has a leak and will need a replacement. Before I call a plumber any idea what price I may be looking at

Specifically, is it cast metal? - suspect from your description that it will be. If so depends on whether it can be sealed / patched. If metal is cracked / split, it will be a bigger job.
