On my laptop there is a program called power cinema, but every time I put in a disc with either music, pictures or video it opens automatically which sometimes is a pain, how can I stop it opening by itself

I *think* this should work, unless it's some settings in PowerCinema:
Go to my computer, right click on the DVD drive in question, got to the AutoPlay tab, and change to the desired option for the different file types in the drop down. I tend to have mine on take no action or prompt each time

Thanx for your advice, I did just as you said and it works great, sorry it took me so long to thank you but I have been out of the country for a few days..........
