I've recently heard that the common contraceptive pill Mycrogynon can make your hair really thin, as one of the side effects. Is this true? And if so, which is the best one to use?

I am on Mycrogynon and I have never heard of this before. The side effects are listed in the booklet you get with the pill, and if you edo xperience any you should consult your gp immediately. I also have my hair coloured and I straighten it, so it is very over processed yet I still seem to have more hair on my head than what I can handle!
I've been on this pill for 7 years and have never heard of this problem, I have thick hair.

It will affect different people in different ways.  The link below is a review site for Microgynon 30 from several users who rate if from 1 star to 5 stars.  The average is 3.5 stars, based on ease of use, effectiveness and side effects.

lol i wish coz i have really thick hair lol. But i use it and its fine, but it will affect every1 differently, however, no1 i know has suffered from hair thinning
I switched to Microgynon 18 months ago after 6 years on an Australian brand of pill. I am now struggling with severe hair loss and waiting for my appointment at the dermatologist. My doctor said that all pills can cause a reaction of hair loss in some patients, and if you're not comfortable being off the pill completely, it's trial and error to find the right one. Estrogen dominant pills are thought to be best for dealing with hair loss. Which is my next tactic. It is depressing and scary to just touch your hair and get a handful of it come off.
