Hey Fatalbert,

I would suggest that you both go out for a walk either daily or every other day and just work up to the ten miles.

You have five months to do this and I am sure you will be able to walk the ten miles comfortably by then.

Good luck

yep go walking and pace ure self every time you do i found a cheap pedometer helps, as it can tell you the distance that you have done, think argos or any sport shops have these!
I agree with banjo, walking is free and you have plenty of time to work up to 10 miles in 5 months
A good way of stopping boredom as she gets fitter is to drive her to a point one mile from home and gradually increasing the distance.

This way she gets to walk different routes instead of a circular walk from home, or a time consuming drive followed by a circular walk.

If she has a friend who will walk with her, so much the better.
I agree with all the above. Walking is the best way to go. If you can afford one hire a treadmill and you can exercise while watching your favourite telly stuff as well, you can even try jogging when you start to feel a bit fitter.

Be careful, fatalbert - if you walk 5 miles a day, at the end of the week youll be 35 miles away from home!
