When I receive an email from '?? confirms you as a friend' on facebook does that automatically give them access to my site?

yes, and as standard anyone that is a member of the same network as you can see most, if not all, of your page regardless of if they are on your friend list or not.

If you click on the privacy link in the top right of face book you can adjust who can see what.
