2d Bilharzia
20d ..C(l)ause
Question Author
Many thanks for bilharzia (I was looking for a more general grouping and not a specific parasite!)
Can't understand the rationale of the other clue though. How does "cause" and "l" fit in - and it blows my 19A "Expert's spoken about Charlie and Ecstasy" (6) *R*C*E???
I'm not entirely happy with it but...
Clause= article
and "L" for line in cause(..author in the sense of founder)

19a ..Ora(c)l(e)...does this fit?
Oracle was the answer.
Question Author
Thanks again. Yes - it's ORAL +C & E around the L.
