Just had a right morning...Some guy in the park wouldn't pick up after his dog, despite being offered a bag, so I ended up having a go at him, and he got really personal and abusive, so I had to call the Police. Why can't some people admit to being in the wrong? It is the inconsiderate actions and don't-care attitude of the minority (he actually said, "Why SHOULD I pick it up?"!) that reflect badly on all us responsible owners. Why should I have to hose down my shoes after a walk in the park, why should I have to tolerate hacky looks from other people when I walk my dog? I am still fuming now, there is steam coming out of my ears! Phew, rant over. Not really much of a Q sorry.

hi there!
Sorry to hear you had a crappy day!
It drives me mad as well, we live with a 'dog field' next to our block of flats, i have to cross it when i come home on the bus, and sometimes I'm wearing flip flops, the grass gets very long and you cant see what you are treading in. its not nice at all when you stand in something, or see someone allowing there god to fowl in our garden as well,i often feel tempted to shout out of the window.
You are definatley not alone!
Hey leela hun, sorry to hear your morning hasnt been great, but good on you! Well done for having a go!

Not good he got nasty though :-( What did the police say/do hunni?

xxx
lmao you called the police over a piece of turd. Happy days.

Hope this helps
I'm sorry Leela, Gravitate has made me laugh!

What did you say to the telephone operator? Did the police turn up? Did they force the chap to pick it up?

This is a bit of a theme this week, isn't it, at least the producer of yours was cute!! x
Try having a lie down in a darkened room leela!

Last Bank Hol weekend, youngest Junior O & I were enjoying a bag of chips on a seaside pier when an old couple & a yappy dog stopped by our seat. The dog proceeded to empty its bowels while the oldies lavished praise on it. They were about to walk off when I asked if they could pick the mess up. They smirked and said they didn't have a bag. I delved in my backpack & offered them a carrierbag. They then said "If you're so bothered then pick it up yourself." At this point the red mist rose over my eyes. I was icy calm as I told them their options.
1. Pick up the mess & put it in a bin
2. Don't pick up the mess. I'll do it for you and then smear it on your hair just prior to drop- kicking your dog into the sea.

They went for option 1.
^ lmao!!
I presume you phoned the police the guy was being personal and abusive, rather than the fact that he wouldn't pick up the mess, leelapops! Nasty man.

I took my dogs through the town centre yesterday, after walking them through lots of open space providing them with the opportunity to do what nature intends. One stop and squatted in the middle of town. Glad I had my carrier bag, but found there were no doggy doo bins in the town at all, only in the dog walking areas. Had to take my carrier bag home!!

Oh dear Grav, it wasn't the cack, it was his aggressive attitude! Don't think you have followed me.

firewatch, cheers! Not much fun for you, urgh! I can't imagine poo between your toes is very pleasant! It's a shame owners can't be shot on the spot for not picking up. After all, as I say, I manage to pick my dog's mess up. You can get bags for FREE now! No chuffin' excuse!
Hey wiggal sweetie, how are you? I was really concerned that they wouldn't bother, and I did explain that I didn't want to appear petty, but they were actually really supportive. A PC came out and had a chat about it, asked for a description, and then we found out his name from another walker, and also that he is 'known' to the police (a super euphemism!).

Hey Lakitu hun, glad to see you are back and grey!! ;) I just said I had been verballed by a guy, and she said she would pass on my details and send someone out. The guy had long gone by then. There were 3 of us, so we managed a reasonable description between us...Yep, turd is a prevailing theme for us both this week it would seem!
mrs o, good on you! I see they responded accordingly *lol*

Lottie, yes, you took my comments in context! He was just so unpleasant, and after walking off he then approached us to really have a go. He got dead personal, because what he had done was indefensible so he couldn't justify his actions. Oh, and don't our darlings pick the most opportune moments to let one out?!

His dog was a gorgeous Staffie, and his behaviour was doubly bad because there is enough breed prejudice out there without ****s like him adding to it.
My owning a dog doesn't mean I resent having to dodge dog turd any less than non-dog owners.

Sorry, leelapops, to hear you got the rough end of things this morning but you did do the right thing & while he didn't take much notice at the time, you will have started a process of changing his mind on this matter.
If more people spoke up on anit-social behaviors we wouldn't have half the problems. When no-one says any thing it is confirming that 'whatever' is an OK way to act & we enlightened people know that it's not.
Don't worry, he'll get his - the universe has a way of getting around to retribution in the most perfect way & sometimes we even get to witness it. I look after a friend who's disabled & 70yo. I drive for her, carry her shopping & we generally get into plenty of mischief together! Her neighbour's run a plumbing business from their house & kept blocking our access to the garage where the car (19yo BMW) is kept. When asked politely to move obstructions, they verbally attacked me - denigrating me driving ability & insulting me personnally, until finally the Police were involved. The very next week I looked out of my home to find he had been wheel clamped for parking illegally while working on a property nearby! Oh, how I laughed!

Ah showcatbenga, you have to love revenge! Mwahahaha! :) Thanks hun, it's true. The park is meant to have a zero-tolerance policy, but that is rubbish, as no-one polices it, and the wardens have no power. And frankly, if I was paid minimum wage and subjected frequently to such abuse from ignoramuses like him, I wouldn't do much about the problem either! I have seen it so often and said nothing, and today I was just sick of it!

How are you? x
Hi

I used to live opposite a lovely strip of grass with several pine trees on it. As the neighbourhood was without much in the way of parkland, every man and his dog used to use this strip as a dog toilet. I bought a camera, and when dog owners did not clear up after the pooches, I used to go out and pretend to take their picture. On one occassion, I saw a guy leave his dog's mess and he gave me the finger as I pretended to snap him... I went inside, grabbed a dirty nappy out of my bin, followed him and when he went inside his house, I dropped it in his garden!!!!
Hi leela
Good on you for you standing your ground.
Sometimes the Police are not too helpful in situations like that.
If there is a next time, call the Dog Wardens. They will interview him and give him a warning.
I just detest irresponsible dog owners.
Well done you!
Hi leelapops its these sort of people who give dog owners a bad name if everybody did the right thing it would give the right impression but alas it's not always the case. You did the right thing .g
Good on you leelapops - you did the right thing. I would have done the same. Feel sorry for the dog in question - imagine being lumbered with such an ignorant abusive irresponsible owner !

xx
good for you leela it makes me so angry it takes 2 secs to pick it up. we had someone kept letting their dog do it on the grass at the front of our house i put a note on the fence saying i know who you are and if you do it again you will get it back through your letter box minus the bag i picked it up in i didnt have a clue really who it was but it stopped
Love your story HappyJo! We live on a through route in the country and people have stopped in our pull-in and thrown their disposable nappies out of their cars on several occasions! I think I might have gone one step further and stuffed the nappy through the letter box!!

Hello lovely people, thanks for all your replies!
It is nice to hear I am not just some kind of vigilante busybody (or that there are more than one of us ;) ). Why should we be the ones that experience the sharp end of anti-dog feeling?

cruella, garner and alfie, thanks. Apparently the park staff are now actively seeking this man; after we found his name out, it transpired that it wasn't the first time he had behaved like this. I hope they find him. Once again today, I stood in dog cr@p that hadn't been picked up. Just once I would love to leave Jack's mess and find that karma works!

ruthann, hahaha! You told them! ;) And happyjo, well done! Definitely a taste of his own medicine!Lottie, some people are so inconsiderate :S
