Connecting an XBox 360 to a laptop.

I'm not very electronically inclined, but i have a laptop with high speed internet access. I paid for the sprint stuff. the thing plugs into my usb port. i have an ethernet plug in the laptop itself, and am currently running Windows Vista home as my OS. i have an ethernet cable and stuff. what do i have to do to get started?

If you go to the Media page on the dashboard, if you look at one of them ( I cant remember which,just look at all of them) it will give you instructions on what to do. You will need to download the latest windows media player and will need to set something up. this is quite complicated, so you will probably need someone else to help you, but once you have done it, on your 360, look at some files in videos or music etc. and press X. Press A on the one which is what your computer is called E.G. "Administrator"

Now you will be able to view your music and video files saved on your PC.
If you the Xbox live arcade maker then you can open them up too.

if your laptop has media center on it it should be albe to find the xbox on the network and share media with it. you will have to do a scan on the xbox on the media tab for avaialble sources of media (should come up with everythign on the network).

couple of points though.
do you have a router?
is your xbox on live?
