Hi, I recently upgraded my AVG anti virus, The new version has detected 23502 traces of coolwebsearch, no other programme has detected these includingCWS Shredder,They all seem to be in
HKLM\SOFTWARE\microsoft\internet explorer\ActiveX Compatibility\
I havn't found a way to delete all these enteries in one go, the only way I have found is to remove them one by one,This could take forever.
Would it be safe to remove every thing from the ActiveX compatibility in Regedit in one go?

It should be. That coolweb is a pain in the backside.

You can download ActiveX compatibility here:
http://activex-compatibility-manager.nirsoft.q archive.org/

so removing yours shouldn't be a problem.

Remove it, empty your trash bin, reboot, scan again and if all is well, download the compatibility manager
If you've upgraded ....
sort of shows how good the old version of AVG was ....
why would you trust the new one?

wonder if possibly AVG free isn't as good as people rate it?
.... and what is this version missing?
