Hi, I remember Richard Gordon walking away but he did appear on the show later but of course there may have been someone earlier,
Three years ago former Goodies star and wildlife enthusiast Bill Oddie turned away the This is Your Life production crew who had come to surprise him.

Bill Oddie was only the third person in its history to refuse to take part after family and friends had gathered in a studio.

Footballer Danny Blanchflower refused to appear in the 1950s and author Richard Gordon also backed out but was later persuaded to take part.

Yes, Blanchflower was the first.
Did Stirling Moss refuse to appear on it - or did I dream that?!
