I have just installed one of my favourite games again "Die Hard - Nakatomi Plaza" for the second time on my computer, because I enjoyed it so much the first time. I haven't changed the graphics card or sound card on my computer since the last time I played it. Whenever I open up the game it shows an hour glass, then to a normal pointer and then it does nothing, no message, no change in the screen. What is happening and how can I resolve it.

Sounds like a DirectX issue to me. Update to DirectX 9.0c (from microsoft), then update your video drivers. That should sort tings out.
It could also be a problem with your sound drivers so update those too.
Question Author

How do I find out which video and sound drivers I have. And how do I update them?

Check out the cards website. I use a Nvidia FX5700ULTRA , and the latest driver for Nvidia is the 66.93 version. Older sound drivers dont cause nearly as much hassle as video, but its not unheard of.
PS. The new Nvidia drivers work with all the older cards as well. Not sure of ATI, tho, as im a diehard Nvidia fan!
