subtitles on ntl decoders on screen

we have a ntl decoder for all the sky and movie channels ukgold etc...but i am a bit hard of hearing and was wondering is there any way to get subtitles on the screen of the spoken words on the programes.....can anyone help?

I can't answer your question about subtitles, though I don't think it's possible. But if you have a hearing aid, then you could consider installing a loop system. These are found in churches and some other public buildings and are very efective. I believe you can get them for free depending on your circumstances.

If your NTL box is the same as mine, I can do it like this:

From watching a channel:

Press "TV Guide"

Scroll down to "Settings" and press "OK"

Scroll down to "Further Settings" and press "OK"

"Subtitles" is the middle option, scroll down to this and press "OK"

Select "ON" or "OFF" and press "OK"

Scroll right and up to "Keep Changes" and press "OK"

Press "TV" to exit the settings menus.
