I know nature can be cruel but I think human nature can be more cruel some of the things you read in the paper beggers belief.g.
Maybe stuck them in a hole and set light to it?
I find this sort of behaviour absolutely despicable - what makes human beings do these sorts of things?
i agree - how cruel can these morons get?? Its so upsetting. Not a brain cell between them - nasty -and lets hope they get their come uppance along with all the other so called 'human beings' (i use that term with tongue in cheek) who mistreat animals, children, etc etc.
My own tale of 'my' Robins' demise was upsetting but I know that I had to accept that it was just nature taking its course, the tale you tell is horrifying! I don't know if these scum are a minority or not but I really do fear for the future. They keep banging on about saving the planet for future generations but with mindless acts of violence against beautiful harmless creatures and some innocent people ( as in the case of the recently murdered 16 yr old Jimmy Mizen(?)) it makes you wonder if its actually worth the effort?
Just read this post and wished I hadn't. As others have said what hope is there when this sort of thing happens.

I just like to hang on the philosophy
What goes around, comes around - even if there's no proof that it does.
I agree - what goes round comes - have posted a note to krustyman in the hope he reads it. :o)

good news i have discovered that the blackbirds nest i was watching the eggs have hatched will keep an eye on them to see how they progress
Wonderful news daneswalk! Fingers crossed for the little chicks. Keep us posted :o)
Oh daneswalk, that is so horrible (the bluetit story). I despair of some human beings. Fortunately, I think they are in the minority. I would like to do what Bensmum has suggested!

Glad about the blackbirds. I hope they all thrive.
