Hi Just started a new folder on the desktop to store some info for a forthcoming holiday. It contains accommodation reservations, car hire details etc., and two shortcuts to a couple of websites. However, when I attempt to open these web pages, I get a message saying : Windows cannot find 'C:\Documents and Settings\User\Desktop\Vancouver 2008\BC Ferry reservation.htm'. Make sure you typed etc.The strange thing is, tho', the web pages still open. It's only a small matter, but getting on my nerves !! Any advice/help for a solution would be greatly appreciated.I'm using Firefox btw. FBG40

When you save a web page it will save a folder AND a shortcut to the web page you have saved. The folder contains the info relevant to the shortcut. You need to save both of these to the folder on your desktop. if you just save the shortcut your pc will have to download the web page again from somewhere else in the memory. I'm guessing, but I wonder if you have been saving the shortcut alone and not the folder,
Had a second thought:

Are you sure that you are saving shortcuts to web sites? Reading your question more carefully, a Ferry Reservation.htm seems to me more likely to be a web page where you have entered some details and then saved the page with your details on it rather than a web site. My answer refers to saved web pages not shortcuts to web sites so my previous may be inappropriate

Hi Camioneur
Thanks for your replies. As you have guessed, I have saved these as web pages, so will have a look at your tips.
Many thanks

Following on from camioneur..

When you save a web page there are options for how you save it... web page complete, web archive, html only, text file. These are available from a drop down box next to the Save button.

Make sure you select web page complete and then it will save all the info, the .htm and a folder of the same name, and you can open the page again offline by double clicking the .htm icon.
