Bought SonyRDRHX DVD recorder from Dixons. Was last one in shop, demo. It loses timer recordings, although there is a fix for this. Should I demand a more up to date replacement, which would have the fix, rather than having my own one repaired. As machine is new I don't want any messing about and would prefer an updated model. What do you think?

id ask if it is a firmware or hardware fix, if it is firmware then let them do it and it'll make no difference (firmware updates are just installing new software into it)

If it is a hardware fix (a physical part is changed/modified) then go for a new one, though I assume you got it cheap, how you stand on that don't know.

I got a reduction of 30 euro on the price.
Not cheap.
Paid 400 euro.

Forgot to mention that it is a software fix, but I could be without my new machine for 2 weeks.
