As a kid - indeed, as a young adult - I loved those Warner Bros/Looney Tunes/Tex Avery cartoons, with characters such as Droopy and Foghorn Leghorn, plus the one-off Avery cartoons that didn't feature regular characters but were still packed with inventiveness, wild surrealism and manic musical scores. They used to crop up on terrestrial TV fairly regularly until about 10 years ago, but I don't notice them being on anymore.

Does anyone know if these kinds of cartoons are available on dvd? If they are, there's one thing I'd be wary of - I heard that a load of Tom & Jerry cartoons had been relesaed on dvd, but re-edited and sanitised for a modern audience, e.g. with the black maid ("Thomas!") re-voiced and redrawn to not be obviously black - stuff like that.
