Bruce Springsteen was touring the UK in the 80's during the miners' strike. When he got to the North East, he asked to meet the strike committee for the area and donated $20,000 to the strike fund. Did that happen, or is it just an urban myth?

It isn't that Piers Merchant said it but rather that an MP said it in Parliament which makes the event verifiable via Hansard.
