Having just watched this cliche-ridden load of c*a*
I looked on IMDB and laughed at the quote of someone who had seeen the whole film
"Did Robert Carlyle owe somebody a favour"
All the stars totally mis-cast and wasted !

Although some of the scenes were cleverly done, the whole thing was completely un-believable, ie how long did that guy stay under water, and why wasn't he just swept away in the torrent?
But the "cherry on the cake" was the information included in the credits at the end. "If anyone has concerns on the chance of flood risks, please phone this premium rate number", (or words to that effect).
But still I suppose it will all help to panic even further, those more gullible global warming / climate change theorists.

My family were watching this and I happened to be in the room for some of it. It was AWFUL. ABSOLUTELY AWFUL.
I had to give up and leave the room when I saw the part where Robert Carlyle and the lady jumped off the Thames barrier because they thought it was SAFER to be in a raging torrent that was the Thames rather than standing on a huge solid structure in the middle of the river.
I can only assume the actors were offered huge pay cheques to appear in it.
Would not surprise me if the story was written by the 11 year old daughter of the producer.

Why couldn't Tom Courtenay take a spare oxygen tank with him?
Why didn't people immediately head for the upper floors of the office buildings ?
How come they could all still use their mobiles (until cut off) - I am thinking New Years Eve at Midnight here !

I also think it was a little insensitive to people who went through the floods this time last year (I'm in Sheffield as some of you may know, and we had a terrible time here). Surely the timing of this programme didn't escape the scheduling team at ITV?
Normally this sort of thing doesn't bother me, but the scenes of the girl's Mum drowning in her own house was a bit much to take in a household which suffered so badly from flooding.

My other half hates me nit picking at programmes like this but here is my view anyway.....
The mobile phone networks were reported to be overloaded but still people were able to use their phones in hard to get signal places.
The plumbers estate car had back doors ; both him and his daughter made no attempt to wind down windows or open back doors as in another camera shot the back doors were not affected by the rush of the water going past.
The plumber chose to try and rescue a woman who later drowned in her car by sticking a small wrench into the door of her car when there were several metal pipes in the back of his car he could have levered them with.
Once the 'sealed room' had been flooded and there was supposedly no way to get out the bloke got in there and used an oxygen tank but got carried out dead...how did they get him out so quick when if he had waited he would have survived.
