I had a perfectly reasonable question on here yesterday asking if people remebered the band Ride from the 90's & it has been removed. What is happening to this once great site?

I've also had a perfectly normal & reasonable question banned from the Film & TV section about the film " Day after tomorrow" that was simply asking what people thought of it as i thought it was a bit limp. Don't understand it, the only thing that i can think of is that the questions are removed / banned if they become repeated (think i've read that somewhere in the terms & conditions of the site).  It's a shame that the term "banned " is used, as this implies that the question is offensive in some way.  Maybe we should put it to the editor that a reason should be given to the question putter outlining the reason for removal??  It would make things a bit clearer.
ye i asked what is your favourite film and that was banned
Just to recap my answer to that, yes, I remember them. Very fond memories. Polar Bear and Making Judy Smile. Good to see them in the VH2 Indie 500 too.

Chrisd - your post was removed because it was not a valid question, but a conversation piece. We often ban such posts.

Ones that ask nothing but "what is your favourite film/song/celebrity?" are actively discouraged.

Usually, only conversational-style posts that spark informed debate in "worthier" categories, such as News and Parenting, are allowed to remain.

The banning is not meant as a slight to you, but is meant to contribute towards making TheAnswerbank lean and healthy like a prize fighter.

We hope you will continue to visit this site.

All the best,
