Has anyone read this book yet?

Luckily I started reading it on Friday so I could read right through the weekend, I couldn't put it down. It truly is a brilliant piece of writing and made me cry numerous times (and I don't even have kids!)

I think every child that is a bully should read it and see what devastating consequences it can have on not just the individual but families as well.

Well recommended.

funnily enough this is my least favourite of all of her books! I just didn't connect to any of the characters in it so couldn't find myself caring enough.

I agree though that bullying is horrific, and more should be done in School's to stamp it out.
I love her books and think I've got most of them. Some of the older ones (songs of the humpback whale, harvesting the heart, picture perfect) are quite hard to get hold of now but I understand they are going to be published again over here because of her popularity. One of the my favourite authors at the moment definitely.

I was addicted as soon as I read My Sister's Keeper which is now being made into a film starring Cameron Diaz as the mother of the 2 girls, not sure about the casting - she seems a bit to picture perfect to fit and portray real emotion for this character.

My favourite of hers is still "Plain Truth" - the story of murder in Pennsylvania's Amish community. I also loved "The Tenth Circle" - about what lengths a father would go to seek revenge.

What I like about her books is the themes about morality - and really make yourself question what you would do in one of the characters situations.

I'm just about to start her new one - Change of Heart. Lucky I've got the rest of the week off so I can get right into it! Will let you know how I get on.
I too love her books. I am teaching "My Sister's Keeper" to my 12th graders this term. The actually like it!! I loved "19 Minutes" too. My students have borrowed my 19 minutes book and it making the rounds. I'll probably never get it back, but there are worse reasons to lose a book!!! I want to read the Amish book too.
