I thought that it was about being trapped by fame and the celebrity life style [but I may well be wrong].

I once went on a visit to a recording studio where the proprietor, a born-again Christian, tried to convince the visiting party that it was a filthy anthem to the devil ??!!! Couldn't see it myself.
