Honour killings

You cannot sweep these under the table and there are many more I could post, and most of them committed in this country.

The Crown Prosecution Service says about 12 women are victims of honour killings in the UK each year.

The researchers fear the real figure is much higher.

The study found that honour crimes are being carried out by third and fourth generation immigrants.

How can anyone now continue to make excuses?

So that's a thumbs down from everyone then?

What now?
I dunno, Quinlad, shall we talk about the weather? Pouring down here. I blame the Taliban.
This rain's really annoying. The only sensible option is to mistrust all water from now on.
We have had some very foreign weather since we allowed ourselves to be swamped by all these immigrants.

Can that be a coincidence?
The concept of liquidity is an establishment stratagem designed to keep us all in a state of submission. Science has proved that we are in fact all gas.
in the future, wars will be fought for water and not oil.

The United States is already drawing up plans to invade Arran.

Your summary is perfect. No-one here has posted anything in favour of honour killings.

There is something very disturbing about the current reporting bias of the Daily Mail/Express.

These papers make no distinction between extremist Muslim practice and regular Islamic practice.

I'm not sure what their motivations are but it's very, very worrying.
jno,
I don't know about the States, and I wouldn't believe anything that that toad Livingstone says.

Do you remember the 'Razor Gangs' of the Fifties,
This is what a neighbour told me, who was a member of one.
The reason they used Razors and not Flick Knives, was because Razors didn't kill, they didn't mind doing time for inflicting wounds etc, but they didn't want to lose their lives if caught.

But besides that, personally, I still feel that we should have an ultimate deterrent, (Capital Punishment), for which, Honour Killings, (murder), would qualify.

I see you are behaving like the rest of your pack Gromit, I refer you to your last sentence "What is the point of your relentlous bile"? Not the type of words to use in adult debate.

Regarding your accusation that I do not understand your answers. Perhaps you should first understand my questions.

And oddly, you seem to be reading things that are not there (police killings? Where did that come from?

Once again you are accusing me of of actions that you are gilty of. "Over 100 women in the UK are murdered in domestic violence incidents" and your link "Republicans blamed for 'brutal' murder" Where did those come from? How are they relevant?

Let me try once again to explain to you. The subject was Honour killings, carried ot by the main perpetrators MUSLIMS,(FACT) but you and the rest of your clan just cannot address this matter, without trying to dilute the probem by branching off at tangents. Everthing from "yes but what were we getting up to hundreds of years ago" to your offerings You might as well said "yes but look how much the price of bread these days"?

Hence my reference to police killings, suicides, mercy killings. ie SUBJECTS NOT UNDER DISCUSSION.

but they are under discussion, aog: you can ask a question but if you do it on a public forum you can't stop other people bringing in what they feel are related or parallel issues, which is what has happened.

But in fact you've got a unanimous verdict here. Your question was: How can anyone now continue to make excuses? And the answer is Nobody is.

>The subject under discussion is Honour Killings.

Only because that is how you posted it.

What a silly point to make, I hold my hands up, yes my question up for discussion was Honor Killings.

You get even more silly,

Why not discuss the number of men who kill their wife or partner (irrespective of colour, race, religion etc!).

If I wanted to discuss that issue then that is what I would have posted.

That number is about 2 a week in the Uk, which is a frightening number.

But then you have already answered that one yourself, well done.

I address this to all of Gromit's Fan Club. Please do not try to tell me what questions I can post, if you don't like the subject then it's simple just don't bother contributing.

So "we" have a lot to be ashamed of before we pick on other groups.

If you must blame yourselves for all the World's ills, then I won't object to you all beating each other with flays, to somehow clear your guilt.

Your question
How can anyone now continue to make excuses?

Isn't it only the perpetrators of violence that do make the excuses and they have to in order to justify their behaviour. Or do you know something not made obvious by your post?

On average, 2 women a week are killed by a current or former male partner. Isn't that then 104 ordinary 'dishonorable killings and therefore only 12 are so called 'honour' killings

An appalling statistic for a modern wealthy and enlightened country like this. My biased opinion is if any group was killing off men like this there would be outcry and new government initiatives would spring up to deal with the problem. However as its only women this gets very little publicity. The last time I saw men collectively/ cross class, race and religious boundaries taking a firm stance on this subject and taking political action to overcome the problem was..............

ps what is 'non adult debate' about Gromit using the words relentlous and bile?
AOG - I STILL don't understand what you want.

NO-ONE HERE THINKS HONOUR KILLINGS ARE ANYTHING LESS THAN ABHORRENT.

Okay? Does that end that line of questioning?

So what is your follow up train of thought? Correct me if I'm wrong, because I'm inferring this from your previous postings. I imagine it's this...

Honour killings = evil
Honour killings = Islam
Islam = evil

Correct?

Supernick - think you've hit the nail on the head with your final summary.

aog tends to get a little tetchy when confronted with rational discourse and the refutation and dismantling of his inflammatory and knee-jerk postings.

He is usually quick to lump dissenters into one or two distinct groups, depending upon the nature of his latest grumble and the arguments against..........
AOG,

You betray the fact that you do not understand my answers when you ask

"How are they relevant? "

Everyone else seems to understand why they are relevant. Everyone else can see that sectarian murders or family murders are the same crime where ever they are committed. And most people have spotted that your conclusion that they are evil because they (the perpetrators) are muslim is incorrect.

To conclude that the protestant killer of a catholic girl makes all Protestants evil would be ludicrous, but that is the trick you are trying to pull in the case of the Iraqi muslim father.

Everyone on this thread has answered your question "How can anyone now continue to make excuses? "
and everyone seems to agree that the crimes are abhorrent and should be condemned.
That is all that is required, but you do not seem happy with that.

From someone who constantly sums up his detractors as 'looney' it is a bit rich to have you lecture me on the type of words to use in adult debate.
