I will add another post which I mentioned in my imigration one. This practise of Honour Killings goes much deeper than we hear about, these are people who live in my country and are carrying out barbaric acts. I have recently read a couple of books on this and the statisics are horrifying. A lot of poor "hunted girls" have done nothing more than have been seen talking to a Western boy more than once, it is a sickening act that takes place in a Western civilised society, I could go on, but I will see what reaction I get

I am relatively new on here so might I be excused for raising the subject once more? I think the point I am tring to make is not about their backward culture as you said, but that it actually goes on in our culture, I know life isn't worth much for a women in this culture, but barbarism has no place in our country
Honour killings, female circumcision etc, etc.

These are just some of the reasons that I can never understand why one is called a racist, if one dares to suggest that we are somewhat superior.
You carry on joy, it does no harm to give ths sort of thing another airing, especally if you are new and haven't discussed them before.

On the question, I simply say that any belief system that finds it somehow "honourable" to murder their own girls simply for the "crime" of taking a shine to someone not on the approved list is surely a form of illogical evil, not to be given any form of credence.
Honour killings (or incestuous murder as I once heard it called) and forced marriage are despicable crimes.
As a nation we should stand against it.
