Bought by the Barclay Brothers (reclusive multi-millionaires) from the late Robert Maxwell's estate. In their infinite wisdom put Andrew Neill europhobe and sceptic in charge as editor. Needless to say it collapsed soon after. Mr Neill is now in charge of The Scotsman, Scotland on Sunday (formerly very good newspapers) and The Business (a national Sunday that started off good).
Can anyone see a pattern developing?
