I was owndering if any of you would be be able to answer this:

Can the police while carrying background checks actually request a copy of all of the text messages that were either sent to you or by you?

I have worked in the police for 18 months and I have never heard of anyone having their phones checked during the vetting process, however I do know that once you get in, PSD (Proffessional Standards Department) can ask to see your phone at anytime and will look through anything you have on there, including messages and picture etc!

I realise it's not totally answering your question, but I hope it helps slightly!!
