is it right that almost everything you stumble across is manufacturered in this country? remember when back on the news a few months ago, when all those toys were recalled because they werent safe. i stumbled against this website yesterday, and the amount of products that had been recalled was appaling, and the majority were from china

the list continues to go on, everything from toys to household goods to tools, practically shocking

do you think we should continue importing these cheap shoddy goods that dont match european/british standards that are being made by people paid peanuts?

We should not import anything that is dangerous,...
Appart from kiddies toys. :-)
Its the preferred way now adam, we used to have manufacturing in this country but decided to sell most of it to china, now china are the biggest manufacturers in the world whilst britain has become a country that "just buys cheap stuff"

with so much manufacturing china can pay their workers peanuts.

dont china have any sort of safety standards at all?
It is very depressing, safety considerations aside. Virtually everything you pick up - Made in China. Prestigious 'British' names - Wedgewood, Arthur Price - Made in China. Human society will do anything to save money, cut costs. What happens when we are eventually forking out nothing at all ?

then we will all turn to alcopops for our cheap kicks....
