DirectX9

I try to run a game that uses DirectX9 and it tells me "DirectX not found." yet when i go to reinstall it, it tells me it's already there, any ideas what the problem is?

what game it is? I had the same problem with GTA Vice city. Totally uninstall the game, and delete any folders it may leave behind. Reinstalling it should re-write the config files, and re-initiallise the DirectX.

When i did this, GTA worked fine with no problems.
