This question is for my media studies A2 project, i need to do some primary (audience) research, so i would be really grateful if i could get some audience response. cheers.

Do you feel there are any differences in the way eastern and western news channels represent terrorism, and why? (for example CNN vs. Al jazeera)

Yes.

I can't recall watching the BBC and seeing Ken Biggley being beheaded.

Further I can't recall the BBC showing smiling and rejoicing Arab village scum after 9/11.

Basically, Al Jazeera is muslim based and they are a world wide force with a common goal. That is to destroy the west and Israel.

If ALL staff at AJ were blown up and their burning bodies were poured over their equally foul parents, then this can only be a good thing.
Re your second para, yes there is a difference. We may get bovine excretia as well, but such are our freedoms, we can usually tell, or are at least free to make up our own minds.
No I dont believe so really.

Both are proponents of subjective propaganda labelled as an objective mode.

Postdog and I may be able to see disparate reports and make up our own minds, but there are many in the great unwashed in the East and West - who believe everything they see, hear and read. Whether Sun and Daily Mail readers or Al-Jazeera viewers.
