The piglet always has hiccups!

After I feed her, change her, wind her, I usually hold her for 10-15 mins until she is settled then put her back in the moses basket, by this stage she is usually asleep. About 10 mins later she starts hiccuping in her sleep. It doesnt seem to annoy her and she doesnt wake up but I was wondering if I am not winding her properly although she does not appear to be in any distress. I also think she is a very greedy baby (not that I have much experience) as she will wolf down a bottle in no time. I stop to wind her after every ounce and she always burps.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Hi warpig honey , hiccups in babies is very common and the baby is not usually bothered by them , especially after feeding .They are caused by the distended tummy , that is , if little tummy has had a good feed . The hiccups will go just as quick as they came . You don't need to do anything unless she gets distressed with them , in which case a little drink of water may help . As I said though , don't worry , it's perfectly normal , and harmless :-) xxxx
Oh , and don't they have very cute little hiccup noises .

Thank you bigmamma, that puts my mind at ease, I thought I was doing something wrong but couldnt think what. She is not bothered by them at all, lol, and yes the little noises are so cute. I jsut went to check on her and the hiccups have stopped but she is lying fast asleep with her arms straight up in the air, with fingers splayed, its like she is doing some weird salute!
Awww , bet that looks adorable . Do you find yourself just staring at her amazed by the perfect little person you have as your child ?
Question Author
Yes, all the time bigmamma! And she just stares back, its hypnotic, I have to pull my gaze away. I find myself looking at her perfectly formed hands and fingers and nails and it is really too much to comprehend sometimes, just how perfect and incredible little babies are.
That's so lovely warpig , bless .:-D
Hi warpig, my little one seems to mainly get them after burping lol But she too doesnt seemed bothered by them. Sometimes she sounds like a squeaky toy lol I would love to see a pic if it was ok with you, redcrx has my email address and Im happy for her to pass it on to you.

Everything is just so new that I worry about the least thing, one of my friends says that worry is a mums middle name, lol think she is right.

Spencer is 8 months! Doesnt time fly! Hope both he and you are doing well.
