A Utah man drives a wagon 30 feet across the flats. He yells "Gee ho!" and then drives the wagon 30 feet. He yells "Haw!" and then drives the wagon 10 feet. He yells "Whoa!" How far is the man from where he started?

try using some basic math rules, hint: the hypotenuse of a triangle.
Oh yeah, and Thomas, you're wrong this time.
the answer is 50 feet
10+30=40 40X40=1600 30X30=900 1600+900=2500 2500 square root=50
Last time I checked, cowboys like to keep it simple. I have been looking up hypotenuse in cowboy lingo all night long and I just cannot seem to find it. The only squaring the Utah man would be doing is eating or dancin. I figure by Utah flats' terrain, the only triangle he comes across is Cheop's. He whoa's his horse cuz he just about tramples across some prickly pears. And since the first sentence says he drives a wagon 30 feet across the flats, I'm going to assume by no pythagorean theorum that he is 30 feet from where he started, cuz, Im a cowgirl and I like to keep it simple too! Happy riddlin outwitters.
helppppppppppppp someone please I have still yet to figure this one out :(
someone pleaseeeeeeeee help me with this one I can be reached at same nick at hotmail.com would love to discuss it :)
40ft
40 '
I 10 ft. is correct!
ok, it all has to do with the Pythagorean Theorem, right. And if "gee ho" means turn right and "haw" means to turn back around then the Hypotenuse is from C to A. The distance is 35 ft. ninoosch Fri. 10/22/04
correction. 36 ft. is correct. Correction. 36 ft. right. ninoosch 10/22/04
i don't know myself, however i work with a guy who plowed with a mule team when he was a kid in florida, he says 40 foot.

Its a trick question.  There are numerous websites that tell exactly what happens when a wagon trys to drive across the salt flats.  You'll sink like a rock.
