Blonde vs Red!

Should I colour my hair again? I'm blonde, but fancy going red! It's quite short, but getting out of shape and can't afford a cut.....

Not all men prefer blondes, brunettes are equally popular, as are red heads,some men even see beyond a hair colour :-)

Argh...I've tried reading up stuff about it online, and now I'm all confused!

Do I have to dye it brown first??? I don't know whether to use a semi permanent or permanent dye either? :O(
Wish I had the money to have it done!
